Quote: " 'Well, there you are, you see! What did we tell you? You wouldn't believe us. There they are your Germans! What do you think of them? Where is their famous cruelty?' " (Wiesel pg.19)
Analysis: In my opinion people in the town are acting as if the Germans coming in is okay. These statements are foreshadowing an event in the near future that will cause misery. It is also ironic that the people believe that everything is okay, but then it turned for the worst and the Jews were sent to camps.
Quote: "I looked at my little sister Tziora, her fair hair well combed, a red coat over her arm, a little girl of seven. The bundle on her back was too heavy for her. She gritted her teeth. She knew by now that it would be useless to complain." (Wiesel pg.28)
Analysis: These few lines prove how cruel the soldiers were. It makes me extremely sad knowing that so many people suffered. This situation relates to "The Scarlet Ibis" we read because the soldiers are acting like Doodle's older brother by pushing the little girl too hard. If the soldiers continue the madness and cruelty the weaker people will die.

Good analysis's !
Lots of detail & good length.
Good referencing back to other stories we've read.
Maybe start the first analysis with something other than "In my opinion.."
great analysis brooke
I thought this was a great interperetaion of the quote. I would have to say that the jews were exagerating about the Germans.
