Quote: "For a part of a second I glimpsed my mother and my sisters moving away to the right. Tzipora held Mother's hand. I saw them disappear into the distance; my mother was stroking my sister's fair hair, as though to protect her, while I walked on with my father and the other men. And I did not know that in that place, at that moment, I was parting from my mother and Tzipora forever." (Wiesel pg.38-39)
Analysis: Strength is one word to describe Elie's mother's character. She seems to be so strong willed for Tzipora by making her feel some what comfortable and safe. I can tell that Elie's mother was very frightened, but she put on a strong face for her family.
Quote: "Akiba Drumer said: 'God is testing us. He wants to find out whether we can dominate our base instincts and kill the Satan within us. We have no right to despair. And if he punishes us relentlessly, it's a sign that He loves us all the more.' " (Wiesel pg.53)
Analysis: The lines I chose are a representation of the message I think the author is trying to get across. The message is to keep your faith, be strong, and never give up because the future may not look bright now, but the best comes to people who trust in God.

GREAT choice of quotes to analyze. I especially favor the second one. I think you got both main ideas of the quotes across very well. Great structure in the way your explained yourself and the quotes. Amazing analysis. I have no criticism.
I think you are right about Elie's mother, she is putting on a strong face for her children even though she is frightened herself.
