Snapshot of a puppy
There I was walking home from school on one of the sunniest, hottest days of the year. Then, out of no where an adorable puppy walked over to me from the woods. My initial reaction was to bend down and pet her. As her cold, brown nose sniffed my hand I knew she was a sweet little ball of fur. Her fur was white and tan with little brown spots like a marshmallow. When I petted her, a tiny little tail wagged as if she was saying, "Take me home!" I did take her home a few minutes after that, to find that she didn't have any tags, so I put up posters saying that I had found an Australian Shepard puppy and what she looks like. I waited a week and no one called or came to pick her up. I was extremely excited when my parents said that I could keep her! I decided to name her Angel because it was a miracle that I found her before she got hurt.

Dreams
George and Lennie's dream was to have a large piece of land all to themselves. They planned to farm the land and keep the crops they produced either to sell, or to eat. One of the many crops they would grow would be alfalfa to feed the rabbits they hoped to have. Lennie was the one that would tend to the rabbits. George wanted to have other animals too, like cows, pigs, a dog, and a cat. Their house was going to be just big enough for them with an extra room for visitors. They also planned to own a smokehouse to smoke things like salmon and pork. I don't think their dream was realistic because of how much they were being paid at the ranch. It would take along time to find and buy a house with all the property that they wanted. Even if their dream some how came true it would never be as spectacular as they hoped it would be.
However, I do think it is important to have dreams for the future, because it makes people strive to be they best they can possibly be. Although, when others doubt their dreams they start to get discourage, think that their dream really is impossible, and that it is a stupid dream. If dreams go unfulfilled for a long period of time people start to think their dream is only a fantasy and could never really happen. I think it is better to hold onto unrealistic dreams for little children. For example, lets say a little girl wants to be a princess or a boy wants to become a professional basketball player, we all know that these dreams are both almost impossible and are very unlikely. However, if the little kids were forced to face reality they might get involved with bad things or just simply give up.

A Perfect World
A perfect world for me would be a world without bullies, smoking, and if everyone in school could carry a laptop around instead of all those heavy books. Without bullies no one would be discouraged and feel like they don't fit in with the crowd. Everyone would be nice to each other and teenagers would not be as tempted to do drugs or drink alcohol. Bullies pressure people into being something they're not and make them sad and upset. In result of how they treat everyone the people they pick on act like someone else and don't show how unique they really are. However, the good thing about having bullies is that if you are picked on you learn how to become stronger and stand up for yourself and other people in a nonviolent way.
The world would be great if smoking never was invented. My great aunt Dana had cancer due to smoking, and my grandad has emphysema from smoking. My aunt Dana died of cancer two years ago. It was a terrible time for my whole family because we saw her every few months when she came to town to get her hair done and to visit. My grandad, however, just had a lung stransplant a year or two ago and is doing pretty well. It is easier for him to breathe now and he can do a lot more. Smoking causes many damaging and life threatening diseases and I think it would be better if it was never invented.
The only other thing that I can think of that would make the world better is if we didn't have to carry all of those heavy books!!! My bag is always extremely heavy in school. Sometimes my hand even goes numb when my bag is on my shoulder! We are going to have back problems before we get out of high school! I think the solution is to have laptops instead. We could keep everything on the laptops and we also wouldn't be killing as many trees. Overall I think it is the best solution!
